McLaren 570GT tours Montauk, NY
GT. We have been waiting for you.
McLaren unveiled the 570GT earlier in the year and as the Grand Tourer of the Sport Series line-up, it succeeded in thrilling the senses.

Arriving in Montauk always has some factors to be considered. Weather, traffic, and patience pose a concern. The weather was perfect, the traffic was non existent and we were feeling as poised as ever as the dihedral doors greeted us so glamorously. At 6am we met the brisk morning air with all 562 bhp and a sunrise to chase.
Fun Fact: the doors on the #mclaren#570S open tighter and narrower than those in the #650S , enabling easier entry and exit in tight parking spaces. – @McLarenUS
The long awaited adventure; we met the open road guided by the 570GT for a tour in the Hamptons on Labor Day Weekend. Before you take a peek at how effortlessly the 570GT crosses over 100 miles of highway, here are some of the refined details the 570GT has to offer.

The McLaren 570GT boasts a V8 Twin Turbo DOHC engine that brings this spaceship on wheels to speeds of 204mph. Our goal on this trip was not excessive speed, but rather to see how long we could drive this grand tourer and shift through the 7-speed gearbox without feeling some desire to hop back into the McLaren 570S.
The lightweight composite brake system with aluminum hubs and iron discs provides optimum feel and modulation even when cold. Carbon ceramic brakes are available as an upgrade. McLaren decided to upgrade, and we didn’t mind one bit.
The 570GT adds extra comfort and practicality to breathtaking performance. Every bit a McLaren, it’s optimized for the road and makes the ultimate sports car experience one that’s perfect for daily use, longer journeys and weekends away.
The rear side opening glass hatch provides easy access to an extended storage area. Framed in carbon fibre for strength and low weight, the glass hatch is tinted and heated, and provides access to the touring deck.
The 570GT features a higher lip rear spoiler design that provides added down force and stability.

The 570GT delivered an enthralling yet engaging drive. The panoramic roof and rear glass hatch leave the cabin feeling airy and invigorating. With a tint to match that of the P1, the sun never takes over and the driver view is as clear as ever. All of the familiarities cross over from the 570 S to the 570GT, but do so with some added comfort. With noise reduction our ride was quiet, once the windows were lowered we were greeted with a seductive down shift and revolution of the engine echoing through the carbon fiber cabin. Bumps and rivets in the road did not interrupt the calm purr of the twin turbo as we wisped off to a weekend getaway. The cool air spun through the turbo and traveled through the cars strategically engineered vents with minimal down force, the 570GT felt every bit a McLaren.
Bonus, we even had room for our weekend luggage.
Don’t take our word for it. Here is a full list of reviews
